If you are arriving by cruise boat for the day, anyone who arranges an independent tour must note they will be disembarked at the old port and from there the cable car (or donkeys) must be used to reach the top of the cliff and Fira Town.
The meeting point is usually outside of the exit of the cable car, and the whole process of reaching the top takes approx. 2hours from the time cruise ship arrives
